Northumberland located in the North East England as the northernmost county of England it is surrounded by Cumbria in the west, County Durham and  County Tyne and Wear to the south and Scotland in the very north. In Northumberland, 316,300 is the population level on a total space of 5,013 km2 (1,936 sq mi) so that the population density is 63/km2 (160/sq mi).

 Froom 2011 to 2011, the population level has risen sharply by 2.9% with a breakdown of those aged 65 + increased by 2% to 20% of the resident population. However, there was a decrease in the number of people aged 30‐44 (down 10,000 or 3.9% points).

 Demographically looking at the county Northumberland, there was little change in ethnic diversity in Northumberland whereby The white ethnic group made up 98.4% of the population decreased of less than 1% point from 2001. · Most Northumberland residents (92.8%) were born in England. There was little change from 2001 (0.5% point decrease).  

There was no change in the proportion of males and females; the population was made up of 48.8% (154,124) males and 52.2% (161,904) females. The 30‐44 age group decreased by over 10,000 (down 3.9% points). Decreases also occurred in this age group in the North East and England (down 3.2% and 2.0% points respectively) but the decline was larger in Northumberland.
